My gum is targeted to teenagers. I acheived this by keeping it very clean and simple. I customely designed the symbol under the word “Blast”. The one with the star at the end of a horizantal stick.
I wanted my gum to feel a focus on the flavour without loading it with pictures of strawberries. I acheived this by Using red and bringing it out by placing black all around it.
When you paint the layer mask black, the layer becomes transperent showing the bottom layer picture. When you paint it white, the layer which is being layer masked is opaque and shows completely. When you paint it grey, the layer which is being layer masked becomes translucent.
a) I was trying to show that I am prepared and ready for the future. I consider whats to come.
b) I used a motion blur which was done to the whole picture. Also, a solarize filter was done just to the head. Lastly I used another motion blur to blur the orangish leave like pictures near the rear wheel of the car.
c) I used a overlay layer blend on the whole picture. A colour burn was done to make parts of the car gold (it was originaly blue). A linear light layer was used to create the pathway of light from the inside of the car to the left of the picture.
d) I used the special brush that creates leaves at the rear wheel of the car.
The way i created mr. oneeye’s second eye is as follows: I copied the right eye, free transformed it and rotated it. I made sure the proportion of the eye was correct and it was alligned with where a natural eye would be on a cat.
For the ripped paper, I copied half of Ho’s face from under the eye, and then flipped it. i ligned up the edges of the picture. I used a soft eraser to make her real face come up on the parts where it exhisted, and i left the bottom corner since an erase there would make the white tear show. As for the actually paper, I copied and transformed little squares of proper paper that was close to the colour that was ripped. I then pasted it covering the ripped part and tear marks. I used a bit of the blur tool to smoothe some of the edges.
1. The film was intresting but not very enjoyable. What stood out for me is the aggression the children receive, and the future they were headed towards.
2. I learned that photography is a pretty big industry. Some people may be born natural photographers. Life is often taken for granted by people in northern america especially. Those children in the brothels wanted a shot at life and spend time and effort trying to survive.
3. I think the world needs to try to promote donations and set up more organizations that focus on helping the less fortunate. This can save many lives fast and prevent children from being born with a bleak future.
4. I am probably willing to donate money and maybe start a small charity within school to raise money.
5. Off the top of my head, one song i can think of that sings about the change in the world is “How far we’ve come” by Matchbox 20. It also has nice images on major events that happened in the world during the video.
6. A non-profit organization that is important to me is “Kids with camera’s”. It is important to me because they give children that have a nearly pre determined future of prostitution or alcohal and other drug sales a chance to go through school and make something of themselves. They do have a website but I haven’t visited it yet.
7. As a whole, we can create work like pictures and/or illustrations and attempt to auction it off for charity money.
The qualities of my magazine cover that make it effective are the light background which makes the objects and characters in the cover stand out. The letters are also clear due to the colour. Theres not alot of things going on so its easy to see the main story and second story.
The order of hierarchy is the 2 characters first, followed by the title and then the main story(top right) followed by the second story (bottom left).
1. A 300 dpi image would be much clearer then a 72dpi image. The 300 dpi image would be almost photographic. The more dpi there is, the more clear the picture would be.
2. A picture created with one dpi would be like a blurr. There wouldnt be much colour definition and the image wouldn’t be smooth.

1. I used the Magnetic lasso tool and a bit of the eraser tool. I used the magnetic tool for everything but the dark shadow remained so i had to use the eraser tool to get rid of it.
2. I found the magnetic lasso tool the most effective and quickest. It was very simple aswell.
3. If you expand the selection, the marquee becomes greater by however many pixels you set it as. If you contract the selection, the marquee becomes smaller by however many pixels you set it as. Feathering rounds off the selection and fades the edges a bit by the set amount of pixels.
